Our commitment

Accessibility

Library of Code is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.

Our Standard

All content we control on this site conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AAA, the highest level. That includes:

  • Text contrast of at least 7:1 in both light and dark mode
  • Links and buttons at least 44 by 44 pixels, and a visible focus outline when you use a keyboard
  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, and at up to 400% zoom without scrolling sideways
  • A visible arrow and spoken text on links that open a new tab
  • Plain-language summaries at the top of longer pages, and a glossary of abbreviations and technical terms
  • No images of text, flashing content, or time limits

We test every page with automated accessibility checks in light and dark mode, and by hand for keyboard use, focus, and layout at high zoom.

Third-Party Services

Some features come from other companies: donations through Stripe and PayPal, and the code signing request form through Microsoft Forms. They are not part of our AAA claim, because we don’t control their content. This is called partial conformance. If one of them gets in your way, contact us and we’ll help you another way, such as by email.

Report a Problem

If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us. Email the Department of Information Technology at it@libraryofcode.org with the page address and what went wrong. We typically respond within 24–48 hours.
